Privacy policy
What we collect when you use this website or message us, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Webessy Studios is a web studio in Bengaluru, India, run by its founder, Narendra R. We decide how the personal data you share with us is used, so under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act) we are the “Data Fiduciary”, and you are the “Data Principal”.
For any question about your data, write to Narendra R at 0400webessy@gmail.com, or message +91 80500 82158 on WhatsApp.
What this policy covers
This website, and the details you send us through it: the contact form, the review form, WhatsApp and email. Other websites we link to have their own policies.
What we collect, and why
What you choose to send us, and a few details about each visit to this website.
- The contact form. Your name, your WhatsApp or phone number, your business and what you need. We use them to reply, to ask about your project and to send you a quote.
- The review form. Your name, your business, your review and a link to your work. We use them to read your review and, once it goes up, to show it on this website with your name and business.
- Photos for a review. If you send us a photo on WhatsApp, we may show it next to your review.
- WhatsApp and calls. Your number, your WhatsApp name and photo, and what you send us. We use them to talk to you about your project.
- Email. Your email address and what you write. We use them to reply.
- If you become a client. What you send us for your website, our messages about the work, and records of your payments. We use them to build your website and keep our accounts.
- What our web host records. When a page loads, the server that hosts this website notes your IP address, your browser and device, the page asked for, the page you came from, and the time. This keeps the website running and safe. We only look at these records to fix a problem or stop misuse.
- Visits, counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics. When a page loads, a small script from Cloudflare counts the visit: which page, the website you came from, your country, your browser, operating system and type of device, and how quickly the page loaded. We only ever see totals, such as how many people opened a page. It sets no cookies, saves nothing on your device, and does not identify you or follow you from one website to another. Like any request on the internet, it reaches Cloudflare from your IP address, and Cloudflare says it does not use that, or anything else, to identify you. We use the totals to learn how many people visit and which pages work.
What we do not do
- This website sets no cookies, so it has no cookie banner.
- Its only analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics, uses no cookies and does not track you: it counts visits, not people.
- No advertising, and no tracking pixels.
- Its fonts and code come from this website itself, not from Google. The one exception is Cloudflare’s small analytics script.
- We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not add you to mailing lists.
What stays in your browser
One small note. After the opening animation plays, this website saves “webessy-intro” in your browser’s session storage, so the animation does not play again while the tab is open. It holds no personal data, it never leaves your device, and your browser deletes it when you close the tab.
Nothing else is saved. Cloudflare’s analytics script saves nothing in your browser.
Why we may use your data
When you send us your details through a form, WhatsApp or email, you give them to us yourself, for a clear purpose: to hear back from us. The DPDP Act allows us to use them for that purpose.
A review is different. We show it on this website because you sent it to us for that. That is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time: we will then take the review down.
Who else handles it
A few services help run this website. They handle your data for us, only to do their job.
- Web3Forms receives what you type into our forms and emails it to us. It is run by Web3Creative in Kerala, India, on servers from Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare and Hetzner. To block spam it checks your IP address with a service called CleanTalk. It keeps a copy of each form for a limited time, never more than three years. Web3Forms’ privacy policy
- Google runs our email inbox (Gmail), where form messages and emails arrive. Google’s privacy policy
- WhatsApp, part of Meta, carries our WhatsApp chats. Our WhatsApp buttons only open WhatsApp: nothing is sent until you press send. WhatsApp’s privacy policy
- Hostinger hosts this website and keeps the server records described above. Hostinger’s privacy policy
- Cloudflare runs Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits to this website as described above. Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States and runs servers around the world. Cloudflare’s privacy policy
We share your data with no one else, unless the law requires it, for example a court order.
Data that leaves India
Some of these services keep data on servers outside India. The DPDP Act allows this, unless the Government of India restricts a country. We will follow any such restriction.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become a project. Up to 12 months after your last message, in case you come back to us, and to learn what people ask us for. Ask us to delete yours sooner, and we will.
- Client work. While we work together, then as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep records.
- Reviews. While they are on this website, until you ask us to take one down.
- Server records. For as long as Hostinger keeps them.
- Visit counts. Cloudflare shows us the totals for the last six months.
After that, we delete it.
How we keep it safe
This website and both forms use an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Your messages arrive in an inbox that only we can open. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the DPDP Act requires.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who else has handled it.
- Ask us to correct, complete or update it.
- Ask us to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Withdraw your consent, for example to have your review taken down. What we did before you withdrew it stays lawful.
- Name someone to use these rights for you if you die or cannot act for yourself.
- Complain to us, and if our answer does not settle it, to the Data Protection Board of India.
To do any of this, email 0400webessy@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp. Tell us your name and the number or email you used, so we can find your data. We will reply within 30 days.
Children
This website is for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
Links to other websites
This website links to others, such as WhatsApp and the live Yauvana website. What happens there is covered by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
If what we do with your data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If we ever add cookies, or change how we count visits, this page will say so before it starts.
